Welcome to MNBS 2014

21-22 October 2014, LAAS-CNRS,Toulouse (France)

Focus on user requirements

The 8th Annual Concertation and Consultation Workshop on Micro-Nano-Bio Convergence Systems, MNBS 2014, will take place from 21st-22nd October 2014, in Toulouse, France. This year’s event will be hosted and co-organised by Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems on behalf of the European Commission.plaquette_1.png

Micro-Nano-Bio Convergence Systems is a major domain within the field of Microsystems & Smart Systems Integration, which falls under the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) priority of the European Commission.

This event is an excellent opportunity to:

• diffuse and exchange information on R&D results and innovative solutions from EC-funded projects and other initiatives in Europe,
• identify synergies and possible collaborations to tackle challenges covering the full value chain from R&D to exploitation,
• meet with key representatives from industry, research, users and the European Commission,
• take on an active role in defining research priorities and roadmaps for future research and in the forthcoming EC program for research and innovation, Horizon 2020.

MNBS 2014 will emphasize on end-users requirements (see guideline for presentation in innovation sessions) to identify emerging needs in medical diagnostics or theranostics, as well as in environment or food applications with clear objective to bring technologies & solution providers closer to the end-users and business, build the innovation supply chain, and faster implement MNBS solutions into the market.

The workshop will include an overview session on running and finished FP7 projects, invited lectures on selected topics and demonstrators, as well as round table discussions. The portfolio of projects currently includes systems and technologies for in vitro testing and for in vivo interaction with the human body, as well as analytical systems for environment and food applications.

Parallel to MNBS'14 , YOLE Finance organises a Marketplace to encourage the commercial exploitation of Smart Systems technologies. The Marketplace is an excellent opportunity for you to benefit from synergies in terms of:

  • Networking with technology brokerage, potential partners and customers through one o one meetings pre-qualified for you,
  • Setting-up new collaboration for innovation projects through the new instruments the EC is developing in Horizon 2020.

MNBS Concertation and Consultation Workshop is an annual meeting, which was organized at Tyndall National Institute (Ireland) in 2013 and at the National Center of Scientific Research "Demokritos" (Greece) in 2012.
